After 15 years, Mama Ester will not return from maternity leave. We are now looking for a new mama to join our team.
It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to Mama Ester, who has been a dedicated and caring presence in our Children’s Village for 15 years. Following her maternity leave, she has decided not to return. We are deeply grateful for her years of commitment and the love she has given to the children in her care.
Her departure means we are now recruiting a new mama to join our team. We are looking for someone who embodies the values that matter most: honesty, hard work, commitment, and above all, compassion. This role requires not only practical caregiving skills but also emotional strength and genuine care for the well-being of each child.
We offer a competitive salary that is always paid on time - something that is unfortunately not guaranteed in many other institutions in Tanzania - as well as four weeks of annual leave.
New mamas receive hands-on training by working alongside experienced team members who guide them through every aspect of caregiving. In addition, twice a year, a child psychologist and their team visit to provide training and professional guidance on behavioral and emotional needs. This ensures that our mamas feel supported and confident in their essential role.
Three new energy-efficient stoves have been installed in the Children’s Village, improving safety, health, and sustainability for everyone involved.
Ten health visits later: Doctor Simon back in Tanzania
After his tenth visit to Malaika Kids in Tanzania, Dr. Simon Cooper, a retired physician from the United Kingdom, has again seen over 140 children through our various programs.
