At Malaika Kids we were recently given a significant and very welcome mention from the Tanzanian High Commissioner in London, Asha-Rose Migiro.
She said: “I express my appreciation and that of the Government of Tanzania for the work Malaika Kids is doing to support orphaned kids in Tanzania.”
This is highly significant for us all at Malaika Kids.
Some orphanages in Africa have been rightly condemned for taking children away from their very poor families. We try to support so they can stay together and our Relatives Support Programme helps almost 80 children. We only accept children into our Children’s Village whom the local Welfare authorities ask us to take on – children that have no family member available to care for them.
