Books are already a highlight for children at the village, helping them develop their English schools so that they can secure a place at secondary school.
And a donation by Book Aid International proved a hit with the children recently, as they enjoyed reading new tales, practising their English and for some children – discovering that books could talk too!
Book Aid International is a UK charity that sends books to needy African centres. We appealed to them for help, and a few months later we gladly received 500 books to totally replenish the old and tired library we had for the children.
The children were delighted, particularly the younger ones who discovered that many books ‘talked’ if you pressed the right button! We know this will encourage reading in general, and help with their education.
